Pete Bridge-Collyns launched his own commercial cleaning business, Cleaning Ventures, after many years of experience within the industry. Pete’s background after university was in retail as an area manager for Aldi Supermarkets but from 2007, he entered into the commercial cleaning industry.
Pete has established a successful business gaining many clients in Manchester but his company has also worked on larger projects further afield. He has used his past experiences to secure work with Aldi on their new store developments over three UK regions.
Pete says “A lot of our rivals have poorly paid, badly trained staff that aren’t interested in providing a decent service and why should they be? They have no incentive to do so. Cleaning Ventures takes a different approach, we train all our staff, pay them a higher than average wage and offer incentives to those that do well. It seems obvious but taking the time to recruit the right cleaners pays dividends. Personality to me is a huge thing I look for when recruiting staff as they are the forefront of my business.’
I met with Paul early this year as I knew I wanted to really expand my business and needed someone who I could trust and work with over the coming years. We are now using Xero accountancy software that Paul introduced me to which is proving massively beneficial to how I run my business. I can keep track of things easily when on the go and it lets me concentrate on looking after my clients and bringing in new business not having to worry on the accountancy side of things.
