Class 2 National Insurance Is Changing

If you’ve got a letter about class 2 National Insurance, don’t worry and don’t feel special, all self employed people will get one.  The tax man is changing the way he collects class 2 National Insurance.  That’s the £11 or £13.75 they take from your bank account by direct debit each month.  The good news you’ll stop paying the direct debit, but before you go out and spend the money, the bad news is you’ll have to pay it in one go with your January tax demand.

Why?

I think its just administrative simplicity, having all the tax collected in one lump makes it cheaper for them.

When?

July 2015

Please let us know if you get any weird stuff from the Revenue.
