In truth they all work perfectly well, getting computers to add numbers up is pretty easy. Sage is still very widely used and is a good reliable system. Because it’s widely used it has the advantage that if you are stuck you can always find Sage experienced temporary staff. Its main disadvantage it that many people find it difficult to use, it’s not all that intuitive and it isn’t cloud based.
We believe that Xero is excellent. It rather grandly claims to be ‘the world’s easiest accounting software’. Xero is online accounting software based around the needs of the end user. Being online means you can access your accounts anytime, anywhere. All you need is an internet connection and you can see your cash flow in real time as well as keep up-to-date with who owes you money and what bills are due.
It has features such as automatic bank statement imports from your online banking and automatic billing so that your customers get your invoices online with links to pay you Good accounting is important to the running of your business, but there is much more that Xero can do to help you to be successful. It has integrated applications for CRM, inventory management, invoicing & job systems, plus a wide range of other specialised software.
What’s more, because your accounts are kept online, we can log in and provide regular reporting straight from Xero in an easy to understand format, helping you to assess the key numbers in your business. We can also assist you if you need help keeping the books AND we can both be logged into the same information at the same time!
Mike Hampson of Insite Property Management is already enjoying the benefits of Xero…..
“The move across to Xero from Sage seemed like a daunting task but it was relatively straight forward and the benefits have been great. The fact that I can check my outstanding sales invoices and even generate and send them from my phone is great. To have that freedom is liberating. Other benefits have meant I can get the most out of Paul and his team, if we have an accounts query we are on the phone and with our accounts being on the cloud, Paul and his team have access to real time information and we can discuss and resolve it there and then. It gives me peace of mind knowing that I can see the state of my business from anywhere at anytime. It is an accounting revolution.”
